What is renewable energy?
Renewable energy is energy that is not produced from fossil fuels such as oil, coal or natural gases. Reducing our need for fossil fuels makes us more sustainable as a business and secures the future of your water supply.
Severn Trent already generates the equivalent of 83% of our own energy use from renewable sources. This energy is used at Severn Trent Water sites or exported to the national grid. We're currently researching, investigating, and working on new projects to use a variety of renewable technologies. You can find out more below.

We work hard to derive our energy from natural sources that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed.
