Understanding your payment plan if you have a water meter

When you have a water meter, we want to make sure your payments cover your usage as closely as possible.

What makes up your payment plan

If you have a water meter, your payment plan is usually made up of three components shown below and will determine the amount you need to pay:

Component Description
Account Balance The amount owing to us or to you immediately after we’ve sent your bill to you. 
Accrued Days

The cost of the services used since your last bill to the date that your payment plan is being set up.

We don’t need to consider accrued days if you already have a payment plan in place with us.

Forecast Charges

The cost of the services we think you will use over the next 12 months.

Where we can, we’ll base this amount using your previous meter reading history.

If we do not have any meter readings, this amount will be based on an average for your circumstances (this is usually based on the number of people who live in your home, the type of water user you are and in some cases the type of property you live in).
