Severn Trent begins network upgrade in Unstone
Wednesday 6th October 2021
Severn Trent is investing £120,000 to improve the water network in Unstone, Derbyshire next week.
This essential upgrade in the north Derbyshire village will begin from Monday 11th October, which will take around four months to complete.
Work will begin on Summerly Road, close to the junction of Gipsy Lane. Engineers will then move on to Crow Lane, from the junction of Staton Lane.
The project includes plans to replace over 800 metres of aging water pipes with brand-new ones, which will benefit customers in the area for years to come.
To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary traffic lights will be in place at different locations throughout the project.
Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said:
“We want to make sure customers in Unstone have a modern and reliable water network for years to come. That’s why we’re investing £120,000 in the area, to replace around 800 metres of ageing water pipes with brand new ones.
“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise the disruption and we’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience as we get this essential work done.”
