A fun family day outdoors at Severn Trent’s visitor sites this half term
14th February 2023
Families looking for ways to keep the kids entertained this half term can come along to one of Severn Trent’s visitor sites, to take part all-new visitor trails.
The free trails will run every day from 17th February to 25th February, from 10am to 3pm at Carsington Water in Derbyshire and from the 10th February to the 25th February at Draycote Water in Warwickshire and Tittesworth Water in Staffordshire.
Set in beautiful countryside locations, Severn Trent’s visitor sites offer people a great day out with a range of activities available, from bird watching to watersports.
Circular routes run around the reservoirs, providing great opportunities to walk, run or cycle, and some sites have cafes offering food and refreshments, and children’s play areas to keep the kids entertained while the grown-ups catch their breath!
This year visitors can test their knowledge on all-things Severn Trent, from what we find lurking in the sewers, to how long it takes water to get from a reservoir to the tap.
Free trail sheets are available from the on-site visitor centres, helping intrepid investigators track down answers to the tricky questions around beautiful reservoirs, giving kids the chance to see local wildlife and get some fresh air.
Donna Marshall, Senior Visitor Engagement Officer said: “Our trails offer a great, low cost activity for parents looking for ways to keep the kids entertained this half term. There’s no need to book ahead and our sites provide a perfect day out for the whole family, with all of our usual on-site activities alongside the trails.”
