Thursday 21 July 2022
Families are being encouraged to ‘be a good sport’ and head to Tittesworth Water on Sunday 24 July for a day of free fun in honour of Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Sports Day activities such as the egg and spoon race, a space hopper relay, and a tug of war will be running during the day at the popular Severn Trent visitor site. Visitors will also be able to meet local sports clubs including Leek Tennis Club and Peak Climbing School who will be showcasing the sporting opportunities on offer in the area, with many clubs inviting visitors to give their sport a try on the day.
Donna Marshall, Visitor Experience Manager at Severn Trent, said: “As Birmingham 2022’s Official Nature & Carbon Neutral Partner, we’re really passionate about leaving a lasting social and environmental legacy following the Games, and what a legacy it will leave for Leek and the wider region if we can help more young people engage with sport.
“Whether you fancy yourself as the next sporting superstar or are just looking for a fun day out to break up the summer holidays, we look forward to seeing everyone get involved on the day and welcoming as many families as possible to our wonderful site at Tittesworth.”
The sports day will take place from 12-4pm on Sunday 24 July. All activities are free, however car park charges will apply. Dogs are welcome on site but must be kept on a lead at all times. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnics, but refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the day. Tittesworth Water is located at Meerbrook, Leek, Staffordshire, ST13 8SW.
