Severn Trent begins essential upgrades in Knowbury, Shropshire
Friday 12th June 2020
Severn Trent will begin work to upgrade water pipes in the Knowbury area of Shropshire next week.
The water company is investing £120k to replace over a kilometre of aging water pipes with brand new ones to help reduce the amount of leaks and bursts in the area.
This essential upgrade is due to begin on Monday 15 June along Caynham Road between the junction of Ludlow Road and Office Lane. To keep everyone safe, a temporary road closure will be put in place for through-traffic until Friday 24 July, while maintaining access for residents and businesses at all times.
Catherine Webb from Severn Trent, said: “We know it’s a challenging time for everyone right now but making sure our customers have a reliable water supply is as vital now as it’s ever been. That’s why you’ll see our teams out and about throughout the rest of June and July in Knowbury, carrying out these essential upgrades.
“Don’t worry, this won’t cause any interruption to your water supply, but to carry out the work safely, we’ll need to put a temporary road closure in place for through traffic, which we understand will cause some frustration.
“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise the disruption and we’d like to thank everyone in advance, for their patience as we get this essential work done.”
