Severn Trent celebrates National Apprenticeship week with diverse 2021 apprentice programme

To help mark this year’s National Apprenticeship Week (8 -14 Feb), Severn Trent’s reminding its customers and communities that it’s 2021 apprenticeship scheme is open for applications.

Supporting this years theme of ‘Build for future’, the FTSE 100 company is offering a diverse set of 12 apprenticeship schemes, to provide a variety of opportunities for people to train and build the skills, for a rewarding career at one of the Midlands’ biggest companies.

Jade Pearson, New Talent Manager said: “Now more than ever, it’s so important that we’re able to provide opportunities for people to train, develop and learn in our industry, so we can provide people with tools they need for their future careers.

“We’re so lucky that despite everything going on in the world still, we’re able to offer such a diverse set of apprentice schemes, ranging from the traditional operational programmes you’d expect from us, to Marketing and Communications and Accountancy.

“National Apprenticeship Week is the perfect time for us to highlight those various routes we have available as there really is a buzz about apprenticeships at moment and what they offer. Many people may now be looking for a change in career, to retrain or are at the start of their career journeys and apprenticeships are a fantastic option that combine a hands-on experience with studying, while also earning a competitive salary.”

The company is offering apprenticeship programmes in:

  • Farming Liaison;
  • Utilities Engineering;
  •  Assistant Water Network Technician;
  • Marketing and Communications;
  • Accountancy;
  • HR;
  • Project Management in Technology;
  • Quantity Surveyor;
  • Health Safety and Wellbeing;
  • Procurement; and
  • Security and Resilience.

Successful applicants spend time learning and developing technical knowledge within their chosen route, supported by their line manager and mentor, to achieve nationally recognised qualifications in their specialist area.Severn Trent’s award-winning apprentices have previously won gold at the Industry World Skills competition, competed in the nationwide Brathay apprentice challenge, and also had one of their own named apprentice of the year.
