Severn Trent invites customers to Leicester drop-in session ahead of £2.8m water network upgrade
26th October 2022
Severn Trent is inviting customers in Leicester to attend a drop-in session to learn more about an upcoming £2.8million programme of upgrades to its water network.
The programme, which is due to be completed in 18 months, will start on Moorfields and Scraptoft Lane on 31st October 2022 and will ensure the continued supply of clean water to the community for years to come.
Residents will have the chance to view the plans and speak with members of the Severn Trent team at the Scraptoft Village Hall, Scraptoft, Leicester, LE79TF on Thursday 27th October, from 3.00pm to 6.30pm.
Lisa Orme, Community Communications Manager at Severn Trent said: “Our drop-in sessions provide a great opportunity for customers to ask us any questions about the work. Customer feedback is really important to us, and we look forward to meeting residents to discuss these essential network upgrades.”
In order to keep our workforce safe and complete the project as quickly as possible, rolling temporary traffic management and diversions will be in place throughout the delivery of the works. Access to homes, businesses and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Lisa continued: “We always try to minimise the impact of our works on communities, but for essential upgrades projects such as this, due to the location of some of the pipework, we will need to put in place temporary traffic lights or road closures. We understand that this can be frustrating and have worked with the council to set up clear and well sign-posted diversions.”
