Severn Trent invites Derbyshire customers to drop-in session ahead of £1million water network upgrade
7th November 2022
Severn Trent is inviting customers in Derbyshire to attend a drop-in session to learn more about an upcoming £1million programme of upgrades to its water network near Froggatt.
The programme, which will begin on 14th November 2022 and is expected to be completed by the end of March 2023, will replace 2.5km of water pipes that run under the A625.
The works will begin north of the Moorlands Lane Junction and progress southbound towards the junction of Main Road, then left towards the Calver crossroads. Due to the location of the pipe beneath the A625, a rolling road closure will be in place, with diversions clearly signposted.
Residents will have the chance to view the plans and speak with members of the Severn Trent team at the Froggatt Methodist Chapel, Hollowgate, Froggatt, S32 3ZN on Wednesday 9th November, from 3.00pm to 7.00pm.
Timothy Ip, Community Communications Manager at Severn Trent said: “Our drop-in sessions provide a great opportunity for customers to ask us any questions about the work. Customer feedback is really important to us, and we look forward to meeting residents to discuss these essential network upgrades.”
In order to keep the workforce safe and complete the project as quickly as possible, rolling temporary traffic management and diversions will be in place throughout the delivery of the works. Access to homes, businesses and emergency vehicles will be maintained and any property within the working area will be contacted by the Severn Trent team in advance.
Tim continued: “We appreciate that road closures can be frustrating, and we would like to assure everyone affected that we – along with our contract partner, Watertight Management – will do everything we can to minimise any disruption.”
