Severn Trent invites Oadby residents to drop in session ahead of £1.3m works programme
22nd August 2022
Severn Trent is inviting customers in Oadby to attend a drop-in session to learn more about an upcoming £1.3million programme of essential upgrades to its water network.
Due to be delivered in phases, the work will start on The Parade on 19th September 2022 and will see the upgrade of the pipes that will see clean water supplied to the community for years to come.
Residents will have the chance to view the plans and speak with members of the Severn Trent team at the Walter Charles Centre, Wigston Rd, Oadby, Leicester LE2 5QQ on Wednesday 24 August at 2.30pm to 6.30pm
The works will move along The Parade towards Chapel Lane, with the first phase due to complete by 18th November 2022. The second phase will then start following the Christmas break on 9th January 2023 and progress along Leicester Road/London Road, with all work due to be completed by the middle of May 2023.
Due to the location of the pipe, a partial road closure will be in place while the works are ongoing to ensure the safety of Severn Trent’s engineers and other road users. Access to properties, businesses and buses will be maintained through a signed diversion route.
Lisa Orme from Severn Trent said: “Our drop-in sessions provide a great opportunity for customers to ask us any questions about the work. Customer feedback is really important to us, and we look forward to meeting residents to discuss these essential network upgrades.
“We always try to minimise the impact of our works on communities, but for essential upgrades projects such as this, due to the location of some of the pipework, we will need to put in place temporary traffic restrictions. We understand that this can be frustrating and have worked with the council to set up clear and well sign-posted diversions.”
