Severn Trent invites residents in Coalville to learn about upgrades in their area

Wednesday 16th March 2022

Severn Trent is hosting a community drop-in session for residents in Coalville, Whitwick and Hugglescote next week, where they can hear about plans to upgrade the water network in their area.

The company is laying over two kilometres of brand-new water pipes along Meadow Lane, Broom Leys Road, Abbey Road and Leicester Road, to increase capacity and bolster water supply across these Leicestershire towns.

Teams from Severn Trent plan to meet with local residents to answer any questions or concerns they may have, ahead of the work beginning in April. To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary road closures and traffic management will be in place throughout the five-month project.

Project Manager Stephen Bramley from Severn Trent, said: “To make sure residents have a reliable water supply for many years to come, and to reduce the number of leaks and bursts in the area, we’re installing over two kilometres of new water pipes along Meadow Lane, Broom Leys Road, Abbey Road and Leicester Road.

“We’re hosting a drop-in session to update residents, show them our plans and answer any questions they may have. Feedback from our customers is really important to us – so we’d love to see as many people as possible turn up to the session.”

The team from Severn Trent will be at St. David’s Church Hall, Meadow Lane, Coalville, LE67 4DL on Tuesday 22 March 2022 between 3:30pm and 6:30pm.
