Severn Trent set to begin network upgrade in Kibworth
Tuesday 5th April 2022
A major scheme to upgrade the water network in Kibworth near Leicester is gathering pace this week, as Severn Trent engineers move onto the next phase of the project.
The water company is investing £3 million to replace five kilometres of existing water pipes with brand-new ones across the Leicestershire village, to help reduce the number of leaks and bursts in the area.
The next phase of the project will begin from Thursday 7 April along Glen Road in Newton Harcourt. Engineers will also be working along Fleckney Road and Wistow Road from Monday 11th April. The project is expected to finish towards the end of August.
Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said: “Customers in Kibworth deserve a modern water supply that they can rely on. That’s why we’re investing £3 million to upgrade the water network in this area, which will benefit the local community for generations to come.
“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise the disruption and we’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding as we get this essential work done.”
To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary road closures will be in place at different phases throughout the project. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
