Severn Trent set to start network upgrade in Shirley
Tuesday 7 January 2020
Severn Trent will start work to upgrade water pipes in Shirley next week, to help improve water pressure in the area.
Work will start on Baldwins Lane between the junction of Primrose Lane and Stratford Road on Monday 13 January. A temporary road closure will be put in place until Friday 17 January to keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe.
Catherine Webb from Severn Trent, said:
“To ensure residents have a reliable water supply for many years to come and to improve water pressure in the area, we need to upgrade part of our network along Baldwins Lane in Shirley.
“To carry out this vital work, which will see ageing pipes being replaced with brand new ones, we’ll need to put a temporary road closure in place, between the junction of Primrose Lane and Stratford Road to keep everyone safe.
“We’d like to thank everyone in advance, for their patience while we carry out this vital work as quickly as possible. When we’re finished, residents in this part of Shirley will have a reliable water supply for many years to come.”
