Severn Trent starts improvement work at Carsington Water

Thursday 23 December 2021

Severn Trent has started work to improve the visitor experience at Carsington Water.

Work is currently underway at the popular site to improve the paths around the visitor centre as well as updating the children’s play area as part of its upcoming 30th anniversary year.

A new exhibition will also be installed at the visitor centre where the public will be able to learn how important water is, what goes into making sure it’s of the best quality, and what steps they can take to ensure water is available for everyone for years to come.

Some areas at the site will be temporarily closed while work is taking place, including some sections of the play area from early January.

The previous exhibition has now closed, but the walking trails, watersports centre and café are open as usual and will be unaffected by the work that is due to be completed by Spring 2022.

Donna Marshall, senior visitor engagement officer at Severn Trent, said: “We know how much our visitors appreciate our wonderful site at Carsington Water.

“This is why we are putting in some necessary work now to ensure we can continue to offer the best visitor experience possible.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the work, but we hope our visitors will be able to appreciate the improvements once we finish in the Spring.”
