Wednesday 10 April 2019

Severn Trent’s £7m investment in Buxton continues to make progress, as the next stage of work begins next week.

The company is installing brand new water pipes to provide the town with a more resilient water supply that will serve the area with wonderful water for years to come.

Rachel Lowe, from Severn Trent said: “We’re making some great progress in Buxton and have completed work in areas where customers can already start to see the benefits.

“For this section of the project we’re going to be starting work on Highfield Road and then moving on to Fairy Bank Crescent, Fairy Bank Road before finishing on North Road.”

Severn Trent partners Amey is carrying out work on behalf of the company, with this section of work due to be complete by early June.

When all the work in Buxton is completed, the area will be able to benefit from 23 miles of new water pipes.

“We’re really thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding as we work on this important project for Buxton,” adds Rachel. “We’re really looking forward for everyone to be able to experience the benefits soon.”

The scheme forms part of Severn Trent’s commitment to investing in its infrastructure which will see the equivalent of £1,300 invested for every home and business it serves between 2015 and 2020.
