Severn Trent to hold community meeting ahead of sewer improvement work in Evesham

Thursday 9th January 2020

Severn Trent is to hold a community meeting next week to discuss its plans to improve its sewer network in Evesham.

The company is investing £250,000 to replace it’s sewer pipe along Badsley high street, to help prevent bursts and protect the local environment from flooding.

Helen Hollingworth, engineer for the project said: “We know there’s history with this pipe causing problems in the area, so that’s why this project is going to make a huge difference in helping to protect the environment.

“By replacing the pipe, we can be sure it’s in the best possible condition and we’d really like to meet as many of those who live in the area as possible, so we can talk about how we plan on doing the work, and how it may affect them.”

Severn Trent and contract partners MMB will be holding the meeting on Wednesday 15th January 2020 at the Badsey Remembrance Hall, Badsey, Evesham, WR11 7XL between 3:30pm and 6:45pm.

Work is to begin on the 27th January, and expected to be completed by the end of March with the team starting work between the junction of Bretforton Road, and Synehurts Crescent.

“We know there’s never a good time to do this type of work,” adds Helen. “But we’re confident that once we’ve finished, the area will benefit massively from the improvements we’ve made to the sewer pipes, that’s why it would be great to meet those living here so we can answer any questions anyone has about what we’re doing, and explain how this will bring big benefits to the area.”
