Severn Trent welcomes new class of apprentices
Monday 2 September 2019
Midlands water company Severn Trent has welcomed the next generation of engineers and leaders on to its award-winning apprenticeship programme.
The FTSE 100 company that provides water to over four million homes across the Midlands will now be giving 32 new recruits the opportunity to combine hands-on experience and studying, while earning a competitive salary.
Asha Taak, new talent co-ordinator at Severn Trent, said: “We’re really proud of our apprenticeship programme, and we’re really excited to be welcoming more apprentices who are all ready to start their careers with Severn Trent.
“They’ve just had their two week induction, which included a residential week stay where they have the opportunity to get to know each other, as well as learning some really valuable team building skills through our behaviours model. They’ve also had their work based inductions, so they’re raring to go as they start in their new roles this week.”
Severn Trent’s apprentice programme offers a variety of options, including Tanker Driving, Operators, Maintainers, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, and Finance and Solicitor.
Apprentices can spend up to three years learning and developing with the company, working in various placements across the region, where at the end of the scheme they’ll be guaranteed a role in their speciality.
Asha continues:“Our apprentices are really excited to get going in their new roles, and they’re going to play a significant part in helping us provide the best possible
