Severn Trent welcomes new class of leaders

Severn Trent has welcomed 57 graduates and undergrads as part of its ongoing commitment to bringing the next generation of leaders into the company.
The FTSE 100 Company, which serves 8.1 million people across the Midlands and into mid- and north Wales, welcomed the first 35 graduates this week on its leadership programmes, with an additional 22 undergraduates joining for summer and 12-month placements.
Darren Page, New Talent Consultant at Severn Trent, said: “We’re welcoming the next wave of engineers, financial experts and digital innovators to our company and we know they’ll help transform Severn Trent and make sure we continue to provide a brilliant service to our customers while also helping shape the future of Severn Trent.
“As part of the programmes we offer, our graduates will have leadership training, hands-on experience taking on new and exciting challenges and becoming involved with community projects across our entire region.”
Ali H, one of the new graduates joining Severn Trent, said: “This has been a really enjoyable and motivational induction week, and I’m really excited about starting my placement with the Strategy and Regulation team.
“Applying for the graduate programme here was easy, well-structured and accessible. I’m hoping the programme will help me become the best version of myself as I get a real buzz from being challenged and pushing myself, which is exactly what I’ll get here. I’m really excited to learn all about the water industry and to help build my experience as I start my career at Severn Trent.”
Severn Trent offers Graduate Leadership Programmes and Undergraduate Summer Placements which give graduates the opportunity to become a future business leaders within its organisation.
There are four programmes to choose from for anyone interested in joining the company for the 2018/19 intake:
• Business Leadership;
• Finance Leadership;
• Technical Leadership – Engineering; and
• Technical Leadership – Information Systems.
“With the increase in undergraduate placements this year, we’re hoping to develop more talent so when they’ve graduated, they can join the graduate programme and become a leader in an ever-evolving, innovative and exciting company like Severn Trent,” said Darren.
