Warwickshire residents due to receive improved water pressure through Severn Trent investment
23rd August 2023
Severn Trent customers living on Gospel Oak Lane in Stratford-upon-Avon are set to benefit from improved water pressure as Severn Trent prepares to start work on a package of improvement works.
The £70,000 project will see the installation of a new network pump, and associated fittings and pipework, which will boost the resilience of the network and improve water pressure to surrounding homes.
This is just part of almost £97 million that Severn Trent is investing across Warwickshire to improve customers’ supply and enhance the network by upgrading infrastructure.
The work will start on Monday 28th August and will last for around two and a half weeks.
Shannon Currall, community communications officer with Severn Trent, said: “We’d like to improve the water pressure in this area as it could be better, so are making this investment to improve everyone’s supply in Gospel Oak Lane. Our teams will be working hard to make sure that the works are complete, and everything is back to normal as quickly as possible.”
For the safety of the teams delivering the work and other road users, Gospel Oak Lane will be closed for the duration of the works. A signed diversion will be in place and access will be retained to homes and businesses throughout.
Shannon added: “We absolutely understand how frustrating roadworks can be and we only ever ask the council for a road closure when it's absolutely necessary to keep people safe and to deliver the work quickly. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and apologise in advance for any disruption while we make this important upgrade.”
