Walking in a Severn Trent Winter Wonderland

Severn Trent are encouraging people to visit Draycote Water Visitor Site this weekend to bring in the annual Festival of Walks which runs from December 17th to January 5th.

The Warwickshire Reservoir, located close to Dunchurch Village will play the perfect host in welcoming visitors who wish to make the most of the many miles and beautiful views on offer for a unique winter walk.

Thomas Crawford, Severn Trent site supervisor says: “We have plenty of walks for our visitors to explore, and if you’re after a steady stroll or something more intense, we have something for you. At this time of year, the views you can capture are beautiful across the water, or from the top of Hensborough Hill.

“We’re able to offer the chance to explore the quiet tracks around the reservoir, next to the water or in the woodland and also encourage our visitors to make the most of the 25 acre country park we have – all of which look stunning this time of year and can create a wonderful winter wonderland to immerse yourself in.”

Severn Trent has 12 reservoirs located across its region, offering miles of varied walks for visitors, with sites open in the Midlands, Wales and in the Peak District.

“Not only is it the Festival of Walks this weekend, but this Sunday also sees the Santa Dash come to Severn Trent’s Draycote Water. On a winter’s morning, there’s nothing quite like seeing hordes of Santa’s dashing round our beautiful reservoir, and you can be one of them! Absolutely everybody can join in on the fun, all ages and running abilities are welcome and you’ll even have your very own Santa costume.
