Work in Rugby going well with over 2km of new pipe installed

Our work to replace over five kilometres of water pipes to improve the water network is going well, despite the current situation, and is still set to complete
on time in November.  The work is part of a £1.3million investment in the Rugby area.

Shannon Currall, said: “Both ourselves and our contract partners, Forkers Civil & Ground Engineering, would like to say a huge thank you to all of the local residents for their patience during these essential works.  We’re conscious that we’ve been much more visible to the local residents than normal during the Coronavirus lockdown and have been really grateful for everyone’s support and understanding.  So far we’ve installed over two kilometres of new pipes and we have another three kilometres to go.

“We know how important it is that our customers always have water when they need it, especially right now with the extra handwashing people are doing, and that’s why projects like this really matter as by replacing our water pipes, we’re preventing them from bursting and causing problems.

“This project is making sure our water network is of top quality, meaning our customers can have a reliable water supply for years to come.”

We began renewing the water pipes at the beginning of March and work is on schedule to be completed in November 2020.

Shannon continues: “When we’ve finished this project, everyone living in the area will benefit from the project, and enjoy a water supply that they can trust for generations to come.”
