Terms and conditions
  • This competition is through Severn Trent Water Ltd (STW) and is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook.
  • Entry to the competition is free. Start date for entries is 25th September 2023 at 5pm and end date is 9th October 2023 at midnight. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that they have read and abided by these terms and conditions. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to comply with these terms and conditions. Any entry found not to comply with these terms and conditions will be disqualified. In such instances, any prizes will be forfeited. Any queries please contact Miriam.Yates@severntrent.co.uk
  • The decision by Severn Trent on all matters relating to the competition is final and binding. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into. 
  • Severn Trent reserves the right to suspend or modify the competition in whole or in part at any time without notice and without liability. Severn Trent’s decision in all matters is final and binding and correspondence will not be entered into.
  • Prize draw is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
  • Severn Trent reserve the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant and to refuse entry at its discretion.  Entrants must be 18 years or older when entering the competition online or by paper form. Employees of the promoter, their families or anyone else connected with the competition cannot enter. Entrants can only enter the competition once and one entrant can only enter per household. By entering, entrants confirm that they are 18+ years of age, release Facebook of responsibility, and agree to Facebooks terms of use.
  • To enter the competition, entrants must answer the competition question  
  • “We have a new booklet about the rich history of Upper Derwent Valley available at Fairholmes visitor centre. What is it called? 
  •     A)    The Upper Derwent Valley history book

        B)    Dam builders to Dambusters

        C)    The Terrific Tin Town Tales

One winner will be selected from all valid entries received in the Competition Period. The winner will be chosen by Miriam Yates at random. The Winner will be notified by Severn Trent within 7 days of the Competition Period end date. They will be contacted by the Ladybower Facebook account via a post tagging them and they will need to send a direct message to the Facebook account to claim their prize.

The Winner will receive one copy of the Dam builders to Dambusters booklet. This will be available to pick up at Fairholmes visitor centre or can be sent to their home address. The Prize will be subject to availability and is non-transferable. No cash or alternative to the Prize will be offered.  

 

Severn Trent cannot be held responsible for any restrictions or issues with entering the competition. 

Each entrant should take their own adequate measures to protect against viruses, security or any exploitation. 

Severn Trent regret that they cannot accept liability for any: 

  • Third parties to fulfil the obligations involved in this competition. 
  • Failure of entrants to comply with the competition rules.
  • Nothing in this clause is intended to exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for any matter for which it is not permitted by law to exclude or limit, or to attempt to exclude or limit its liability.
  •  

Severn Trent will not be responsible for any entries not received by it for any reason, by the end of the Competition Period. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes any entries that are lost, delayed due to technical difficulties or malfunctions.  

Severn Trent is a “controller” of personal data of competition entrants and is responsible for ensuring personal data is used in line with data protection laws (the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Data Protection Act 2018 (“DPA”)). 

Severn Trent will hold and process all personal data as stated in the Customer Promise found here.

Personal data will only be retained as per the retention schedule and no longer than three (3) months after receiving the Prize. This data will only be used for you to collect or receive the prize.

By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions to the exclusion of all others. 

Each clause in these terms and conditions operates separately. If any part of found by a court to be unreasonable or unenforceable the other parts will continue to apply. 

These terms and conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
