Thank you for participating in Severn Trent Water's (STW) “Your Local Treasure” competition.
Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting the information you provide. This privacy notice outlines how we will collect, use, disclose, and manage participants' data.

1. How we collect your data
Issuing prizes:
If you successfully win our competition, we will contact you directly via the Instagram profile you entered with. We will then collect participants' full name, postal address and email address. No personal data will be collected to enter the competition. Winners will be contacted through our official Severn Trent Instagram (@severntrent), by direct message only.
Intellectual property:
Given the nature of this competition, we may wish to share the photos you have submitted in the competition for our own marketing purposes.
If so, we will contact you directly to gain explicit consent for use.
By giving your consent, you agree to the terms of use, outlined in our competition terms and conditions.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, by emailing: socialmedia@severtrent.co.uk.
At this point, we agree to remove the image from any of our owned platforms. We cannot, however, be responsible for the removal of content that may have been more widely shared.
2. How we use your data
The collected data will be used to successful participants, to arrange delivery of their Virgin Experience Days voucher.
3. How we securely store your personal information
All participant data is stored securely on our servers and is accessible only to authorized personnel. We implement industry-standard measures to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of data.
4. Data Linkage
We will not link the collected information with any existing data we hold via the participant’s online account.
5. Retention Period
Participant data will be retained for the purpose of the competition only. Once the winner has been successfully contacted, and prize(s) have been issued all information will be deleted.
6. Disclosure of Information:
We will not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer participant data to external parties.
7. Consent
By participating in the competition and providing your information, you consent to the terms outlined in this privacy notice and our terms and conditions.
8. Changes to the Privacy notice
We reserve the right to update or modify this privacy notice. Any changes will be communicated through our official channels.
